I cannot recommend inducing labor at 40 weeks of pregnancy without medical indications. Labor should start naturally when the baby and the uterus are ready for this process. If you have any health issues or other medical indications, discuss them with your doctor. The doctor may decide that it is necessary to induce labor for your and your child's well-being. Do not attempt to induce labor without consulting a doctor.

The best thing is to choose a number that you like and call the doctor to have them admit you to the hospital and call for help. It's perfectly fine to come calmly for treatment and wait rather than running around in pain.
