Good day. I have a question about starting solids. I started introducing solids at 6 months, and now we are at 7 months. I give mashed vegetables and a little bit of fruit, also ready-made cereal from Fruto nanny and that's all. There are two teeth, but for some reason, I'm afraid to give food in pieces... What other products can I introduce? How was it for you?

The earlier you introduce pieces, the better. Grate on a coarse grater (apples, pears, cheese, etc.) Introduce everything gradually. You can watch Dr. Yuryev on YouTube about introducing solid foods.

Our plate at 5 months. We started with pieces right away. Look at how to safely serve the product and whether it needs to be boiled or steamed to a consistency that can be easily mashed between your fingers. Learn first aid in case the child chokes. Everything will be fine, don't worry)

Personally, I have read information that it is not advisable to introduce solid pieces too early, as the stomach digests food that has been pureed more easily. A child is not yet adapted to such food, and until the age of one, the main diet should be mother's milk or formula. There are not yet enough enzymes to fully digest food. Moreover, it is safer to give purees. Children can choke until their mouth is filled with teeth. Do what you feel is best for your child; these pieces do not affect any development, everything has its time, and neither the interest in food nor the desire to chew disappears, it all depends on the child.😌 I speak not only from my own experience but also from that of many mothers. Pieces are just a trendy trend, nothing more.🤷

🌈Филана🦋 , Look at the WHO table on introducing complementary foods; I used it as a guide for products, but the amount of food depends on the baby, how much they like it. Your goal is not to feed, but to introduce. Do not force them.

Good day! I understand your concern when it comes to giving little pieces of food to your baby. Don't worry, it's perfectly normal. You can start introducing small pieces of food gradually, beginning with soft fruits or vegetables that can easily be mashed. Gradually increase the size of the pieces when you see that your baby is able to chew them. Besides vegetables, fruits, and porridge, you can try introducing meat (beef, chicken), fish, eggs, dairy products (cottage cheese, yogurt), cereals (buckwheat, rice), and legumes (such as lentils). It's important to watch the child's reaction to new foods and introduce them gradually to avoid allergic reactions. Every child is different, so it's important to communicate with a doctor and follow their recommendations. For us, everything progressed gradually, starting with purees, then small pieces, and it all went very well. Don't worry, your baby will gradually get used to new foods and pieces of food.
