Girls, I really need your answers🥺 My son is 1 year and 8 months old, but I'm worried about his development. He rarely responds to his name (though his hearing is good), he's unfocused, speaks very few words, doesn't do what is asked of him, and has had poor sleep since birth. Now he sleeps through the night but still has trouble getting enough rest during the day and evening. Could this be a developmental delay? I can't go to the doctor right now because of severe morning sickness, so it will have to wait a bit. But I'm starting to get very worried😔

Talk to him more. Developmental games are needed. Do not scold. You can try putting him in daycare if he isn't already attending. Consider toys like a sorter or a busy cube. We have also been visiting an osteopath since birth, which has been very helpful. You might not need an evening nap; a nap at noon might be necessary. Our child wakes up at 8 AM, takes a nap from 12 to 1 PM, and goes to bed for the night from 8:00 to 9:00 PM.

Катя Та , I'm planning to put them in daycare. But they don't like children and don't want to interact with anyone except me, their dad, and their grandfather, that's it! They don't interact with anyone else; if guests come over, it's the end for me! They cry for no reason and want them to leave. And our sleep is bad. I've tried many times to go to bed earlier but just can't manage it. They sleep at 12:00 AM or 1:00 AM and wake up at 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM. No matter what, they don't wake up earlier. That's the little problem I have.

Deleted , Well, you still need to socialize him anyway. And it will make things easier for you. Visit friends as often as possible, especially where there are children. The more often, the better. And it will also be tough for you at the nursery. First, try at friends' places. At children's playgrounds, in developmental centers, in shopping centers where there are many children, visit children's creative centers; maybe you will find something there. Our town is small and doesn't have much, so I try to develop him myself.

Don't delay seeing a doctor. The sooner the better. Maybe the child is stressed, that's why their vocabulary is small.

Катя Та , Well, I don't know, I think we didn't have any stressful situations. But [he/she/they] worry a lot, different from [his/her/their] peers.

Deleted , All children are unique. Some turn over late, some sit and walk late, some start talking late. We are 1.9 years old and have a very small vocabulary, but we are developing. I do a lot myself, and I narrate whatever I am doing. We play and talk about what an animal looks like and what sounds it makes. Puppet toys also provide a lot of development; even just taking soft ones and talking with them helps. If there is some speech, it needs to be developed. Don't immediately think the worst! 💐🎄

Besides a doctor, no one can definitively tell you whether there are any disorders or not. Even doctors don't always see them, depending on what they are. You can take some tests online in the meantime to at least have some sort of reference point. But it is essential to see a doctor. Time is also an important factor here. The earlier disorders are detected and rehabilitation is started, the easier and more effective it will be.

Dear Mom, I understand your concerns. It's important to remember that each child develops individually and at their own pace. However, if you have serious concerns about your son's development, I would still recommend consulting a doctor. Your son may need additional monitoring and support from specialists to help him develop in the best possible way. Do not delay visiting a doctor as soon as you feel better. Remember, you are doing everything possible for your child, and your care and love for him are the most important things. Do not hesitate to seek help and support if you need it. Everything will be alright! 🌸
