Hello everyone. I am at 40 weeks and have pain in the sciatic nerve of my right leg around the buttock area. I can't walk properly and limp; it hurts when I walk, with shooting pains. Has anyone else experienced this? And what could be causing it?

You are describing symptoms that may be related to the compression of the sciatic nerve. During pregnancy, the load on the lumbar spine increases, which can lead to the compression of nerves and cause pain in the lower back and legs. It is recommended to consult a doctor for advice and diagnosis. You may need treatment or physical therapy to relieve pain. It is also important to monitor your sleeping position, avoid sitting for long periods, and do exercises to strengthen the muscles of the back and legs.

Most likely, the uterus is enlarging and pressing, so you just have to wait for childbirth and everything will pass. Wishing you an easy delivery ?

It feels constricting, I had something similar. It went away right after I gave birth.

In Kyrgyz, they call it "chunchu" ? I had it too, they say it often hurts when you carry boys.

Unfortunately, it's normal - the baby is pressing everywhere it can, nerves and blood vessels are getting compressed. All that's left is to endure a little longer - there's not much time left! Good luck!
