I was prescribed it at the very beginning of my pregnancy—the doctor didn't like my corpus luteum, so I was on it for two weeks. Then I went for an ultrasound, they said everything was fine and I stopped it! Generally it's prescribed if there's a threat, or just as a precaution to support the pregnancy.
They prescribe them to everyone, like Duphaston, just because you’re pregnant. In reality they don’t have a wide spectrum of action and prescribing them prophylactically is very questionable. Nevertheless, I had a hematoma at 7 weeks; at first I took Duphaston, then I switched to Utrogestan (on my doctor’s recommendation, of course), then I gradually stopped taking it. Then they found increased uterine tone and told me to start again. I didn’t do that, because it’s still a hormone and tone can be avoided by other methods. Then at 29 weeks I had a threat of preterm labor and they told me to start. I didn’t argue there, since my cervix was short. I discontinued it gradually, around week 35. Because closer to delivery, if you keep using it the cervix may not dilate at all. Overall a very dubious drug in terms of unnecessary prescriptions. As my doctor, who will deliver me, says, “neither Duphaston nor Utrogestan will save a pregnancy that cannot be saved,” and I agree with her.
They prescribed Duphaston and then Utrogestan, but I didn't take or use either of them! Because there were no complications or problems! They prescribe them to everyone indiscriminately, and that angers me the most! I tell the doctor that I'm taking them! Everything looks fine on the ultrasound! Girls, read Belokon in more detail about hormonal medications — I tend to follow her opinion on them! They're good for those who really need them, but not to give pills and suppositories to everyone just as insurance! Good luck to everyone ❤️❤️❤️?

I completely agree. These days they prescribe Duphaston just because you're pregnant ??♀️ and nobody takes into account that it's not vitamins but a serious hormone. Like a magic pill that will save what's not meant to be saved
