Hello! My son is 2.9 years old. He doesn't eat food at all; he used to eat at least pasta, potatoes, and rice, but now he only wants dry snacks like cookies, wafers, and the like ??‍♀️. He even refuses to eat children's sausages now, though he used to like them. He doesn't accept any vegetables. He only eats apples and bananas for fruits, and that's it. He drinks water fine. Other than that, there are no complaints. He just refuses to eat normal hot food. He has never accepted soups at all. He only eats mashed potatoes, and that's it. Maybe he needs some vitamins to boost his appetite? Has anyone tried this?

Hello! I understand your concern. In such a situation, taking vitamins to improve appetite can indeed be helpful. You can consult a doctor or a pediatrician for advice and recommendations on choosing the right vitamins. Usually, in such cases, vitamins B, zinc, magnesium, and other nutrients that help improve appetite are prescribed. Also, don't forget about a varied and balanced diet; try to offer your child different types of food and gradually expand their culinary preferences.

It seems like some sort of food crisis to me. I fed my child according to a schedule. I would sit him down and give him a plate of food. If you don't want it, go play. An hour later, he comes back to finish it. No snacks allowed. Drinking is okay. If he doesn't eat breakfast, then we sit down again for lunch with a plate of food. If he doesn't feel like it, he can go play) which means he will have a good dinner) In general, a meal schedule is quite important. We have breakfast at 9, a snack at 11. Lunch at 13-13:30, a snack at 16:00, and dinner at 18:30-19:00. A yogurt at 9 before bed, and then sleep. He wakes up at 8 in the morning and has breakfast at 9. He really doesn't want to eat in the morning) he just drinks. If he skips breakfast, then he has a light snack at 11.

We had the same situation. I eliminated all snacks. Vegetables and fruits after lunch. If he's hungry, he will eat and will get used to eating properly. Maybe you also need to check ferritin levels. If it's low, it could be the reason for the lack of appetite.

Remove sweets, we also have that sometimes. I remove all the sweets where the child can't see or reach them. Sweet juices too, by the way. And then he even starts eating potatoes, although he usually eats them very rarely.
