How to dilate the cervix??? The baby is ready, head down, but contractions are infrequent. Any advice? When my stomach pulls down, I feel the need to have a bowel movement. Walking causes stomach pain, but it rarely hurts when lying down, just pulling. Now, every 10 minutes it pulls and lowers, but during the day, it's quiet. During the day, it only pulls down when walking....

To facilitate the dilation of the cervix and speed up the labor process, you can try the following methods: 1. Take a hot shower or bath. The heat will help relax the muscles and accelerate the dilation of the cervix. 2. Apply warm compresses to the lower abdomen. 3. Try doing exercises to dilate the cervix, such as circular pelvic movements or squats. 4. Massage the lower abdomen. 5. Try getting on all fours or using a scarf-hammock to help the baby descend lower and speed up the process. If contractions are infrequent and the labor process is prolonged, be sure to consult a doctor or midwife for advice and support.

Are you in the hospital? You are most likely having Braxton Hicks contractions since they aren't there during the day. Wait for the real ones; they don't let up but only get stronger. You can go to the maternity hospital. I had several nights of Braxton Hicks before the real ones started, and it also seemed like nothing was happening during the day.
