From a single phrase “looks like a food allergy” without a description of the rash and a link to food you definitely can’t tell. Food allergy usually appears quickly, within minutes to 2 hours after the product: itchy hives like nettle, redness, swelling of the lips or eyelids, sometimes vomiting. If there is facial swelling, wheezing, difficulty breathing or repeated vomiting — call 103 immediately. Please tell me the child’s age, what new food they ate and how long until the reaction appeared, and whether there is itching and fever.
