1 day in the life of a belly-dweller))) 07:00 Woke up. Mom is sleeping. Suckled the little nubs on one limb. 07:15 Bored! Mom is still sleeping. Found another limb with nubs. Suckled them all. 08:00 Mom woke up. For some reason we didn’t eat, we’re driving somewhere. What about food?! Poked her a couple of times just in case, zero attention. Got offended and fell asleep. 09:30 They unleashed a horribly rattling thing on me!!! It’s called an ultrasound. From fright I sucked all the nearby nubs dry. Mom and the lady with the rattling thing tried to make me turn and show my “GENDER.” I don’t know what that is, so just in case I showed them my butt. 10:00 They drew blood. Mom drank some kind of juice, happy. She says we have to stop by Grandma’s. I thumped her bladder — she stopped celebrating immediately, and we got to Grandma’s in record time. 10:30 Finally ate! Fell asleep to cooing and baby-talk. 12:00 Mom went to the doctor who looks at teeth. No need for your heart to pound like that, you only woke me up. 16:30 Another noisy thing!!! This one’s called Dad. What’s with that silly habit of yelling at Mom’s belly “HEY!!.. YOU THERE?!”… Interesting question — where else am I supposed to be?! Wait until I get out, I’ll show you what it’s like to be yelled at! For at least a couple months I’ll respond like that, yes-yes! Turned my bum toward Dad… Too bad he won’t appreciate it. 17:00 Heading home. Noise again! Mom says it’s the subway, nothing to be done. I pushed her as hard as I could, but no result. Sucked a couple nubs out of sorrow. 17:05 The nubs on the other limb taste better. 18:00 Home… quiet. Time to sleep 20:00 Mom over-salted the rice and told Dad, “it’s the little one’s fault.” Out of indignation I gulped some broth and gave her a bump in the side. 21:00 We ate, watching a movie. Turns out I have little palms down there too! 23:00 Woke up! Mom thinks I’ll sleep now. No way, I’m going to play the carousel! 01:00 There. Now I can finally sleep...
