On 24.08.20, in good spirits and slowly getting ready, my husband drove me to the hospital ? we said goodbye to each other and, stepping through the maternity ward door, I went into my very interesting adventure ? But they upset me right away? they said there's a queue! All the overdue pregnancies were admitted ? wait until the 26th! I was really upset and felt so hurt ? Now I understand our connection with my husband. They examined me at midnight and told me to go to sleep — the cervix hadn't ripened yet ? I fell asleep and the body's magic happened ? I didn't feel the first 5 cm of dilation at all! Maybe my husband sensed it since he hadn't slept all night ? I woke up in the morning because they woke the girl next to me to put an IV on her and thereby induce labor. I lay there for about 15 minutes and felt nothing ? Suddenly my body, especially my belly, was gripped by pain, but these weren't false contractions. It was a strange pain — I didn't realize it was contractions at first, but I felt the pain ease and then start again. Then I started a contraction timer and my contractions were every 1.5 minutes!!! They quickly took me to the exam room and said I was 5 cm dilated!!!!! They broke my water and told me to go straight to room 1 (the delivery room). I didn't jump on the birthing ball, couldn't find a comfortable position. I just shut up through the pain. Then they hooked me up to the CTG after about 20 minutes and that's when I realized how uncomfortable I was ? I couldn't walk, and I could have handled the contractions like that, but the wires were of course in the way. Then the nurse laid me on the bed — I breathed through two contractions, and then my body started to bear down during contractions ? They told me not to push, but I couldn't help it. I started yelling at myself 'Stupid, don't push, you can't!' I felt the head coming, and the nurse saw it too ??♀️, but I realized she didn't seem to understand me or my condition! So I found a solution ? I started to scream — I knew I was in a room next to the midwives' station and the head of the department! One shout was enough: a midwife came in and asked what happened ? I said I wasn't supposed to push but couldn't stop. She asked when the contractions started, etc., concluded I was having a precipitate labor ??, lifted my legs and held them against my butt, and told me to push when the contraction started! Then the real pushes began (but controlled — the midwife told me when to do what). And suddenly you were born, little son ? I didn't feel anything, but I felt so good ? I was very lucky with the midwife ? It was all worth it ? now I have a little angel lying next to me ?
