Hi everyone! I see there are a lot of questions about the first ultrasound. I decided to share my story. The first day of my last period was 26.05.20. I went for the first ultrasound on 11.07, when there should have been a heartbeat. As a result, by LMP I was 7 weeks, by size 4 weeks. No heartbeat... Missed miscarriage suspected? The ultrasound doctor advised me to go to the hospital for a D&C, or if I start spotting, run to the hospital — that's what she told me, 90% chance of a missed miscarriage. Well, this wasn't my first pregnancy, and I know what pregnancy is like for me (heightened sense of smell, and my breasts hurt a lot during the whole first trimester). I left the room, mentally told that doctor to go to hell, and calmly went home. On 27.07 I went for a repeat ultrasound and the baby was already within the normal range — by LMP 8.6 weeks, by size 8.1 weeks. Ladies, don't rush to go for a D&C right after an ultrasound; get your hCG tested, and if you're not spotting and you feel pregnant, calm down and wait until the baby decides to show itself.
