Good day, girls. I'm 9 weeks pregnant and have been struggling with tachycardia. It all started as soon as I got pregnant, about two weeks in, and I wasn't aware of my condition. I began having panic attacks (caught about 5 or 6 in a couple of weeks) plus an elevated pulse. I went to a cardiologist. They did an ECG, heart ultrasound, BCA ultrasound, and tests - all okay. Only the ECG showed sinus tachycardia. The cardiologist diagnosed it as somatoform autonomic dysfunction, sympathicotonia. Basically, he suggested the problem is in my head, the panic attacks were due to fear of a high pulse. Later, I found out about my pregnancy, realized it was my hormonal changes plus the increased load on the heart due to the overall circulatory system with the baby. I seemed to have calmed down, no more panic attacks at all, but the tachycardia remained. My pulse is normal at rest, very rarely goes up to 100, usually 75-80, and everything's great during sleep too. But as soon as I start to get up, walk, do anything, any physical activity = spike. Moreover, I feel how my heart flutters inside me. Washing dishes - 130, making the bed - 130, walking from room to room calmly - 125. When I was quickly walking to the doctor's appointment, it was 157. But sometimes I feel normal at such a pulse, I wouldn't even notice if I hadn't looked at the history on my watch at the end of the day. And sometimes it's 120 and I feel bad, short of breath, dizzy. I don't know what to do about it. By the way, my blood pressure is normal, even low, but I've always been hypotensive. 100/60 is my norm. The cardiologist didn't know about the pregnancy at the time of the appointment, but he prescribed Concor. I mentioned that I was planning to have a child, he said Concor is definitely okay for pregnant women, just need to stop a couple of weeks before delivery. He prescribed half of a 2.5 mg before breakfast, I haven't taken it yet, just enduring it. I wonder if anyone else has had this, what did you do, did you tell your doctor, how was it after pregnancy. I have another appointment in two weeks, I'll express my concerns to the doctor then, but please share your stories in the meantime.
