Good day, The gynecologist says that the cervix has dropped, but I don't have contractions (( It's also opening up Has anyone experienced this? How long or when did it begin?

I'm 40 weeks and 4 days, there's no dilation at all and no contractions either. Yesterday they gave me a pill to soften the cervix. Nothing has happened with my body.
