Hello everyone, please tell me — during pregnancy, has anyone had a polyp in the bladder detected on an ultrasound?

A polyp in the bladder on ultrasound at 19 weeks is not a common finding, and conclusions are usually not made based on a single ultrasound: sometimes a mucosal fold, sediment, or an imaging artifact can look like that. The proper next step is a scheduled visit to a urologist with the ultrasound report; they usually request a urinalysis and a follow-up ultrasound by a specialist. You should seek urgent care if blood appears in the urine, pain when urinating, fever, or severe lower abdominal pain. What size of polyp was reported in the conclusion?

Supermoms, they, with a full bladder, don't see anything — everything's fine, but when it's empty they do see.

Светлана, If everything is clear with a full bladder, but on the emptied bladder they 'see a polyp', that is more likely a fold of the wall or an artifact: an empty bladder contracts, and the mucosa can look like a protrusion. For such a finding, a follow-up ultrasound with a well-filled bladder by a urologist or an ultrasound doctor who frequently examines the urinary system is more informative. If the urine has no blood and there is no pain or fever, this does not appear to be an urgent situation.

Светлана, Since nothing is bothering you and there's no blood in the urine, that sounds reassuring. Show the report to the urologist at your scheduled appointment and have a follow-up ultrasound done with a well-filled bladder — don't rush.
