Good afternoon, girls! I need your advice and experience! Who is usually chosen as godparents (Кіндік мама/папа)? Someone who was present at the birth as a birth partner, or is their presence not necessary? I have a dilemma: to take as my birth partner a friend who has been with me since the start of the pregnancy, supported and advised me, she’s an experienced mom, and make her the godmother. But my parents (grandmothers and grandfathers) might step in and appoint their people as godparents. If that happens, could it hurt/offend my birth partner?! Or should I talk to her about it? It’s still not known how things will be with corona by the end of November, whether they’ll allow a partner in. Basically a bit of a mess in my head. There’s one more thing that’s worrying me...
