You can take a test after a missed period, or at least about three weeks after conception — that’s if you assume intercourse happened at ovulation and you add a week of delay. In a week it will most likely show one line, but that doesn’t mean you’re not pregnant.

If you've only just started planning a baby, conception might not happen that quickly! For some, pregnancy only occurs after a year, for others six months, and for some after just one sexual encounter! Everything is individual.
