Great that you’re thinking about this — first it’s useful to confirm the pregnancy (a home test after a missed period or a blood test at the doctor). About sex: home “methods” (ring, baking soda, calendars) are unreliable. Reliable options are ultrasound (usually you can see it at 18–20 weeks), or a noninvasive prenatal test (NIPT) from the mother’s blood from about 10 weeks (high accuracy for sex determination, but primarily intended for chromosomal screening). Diagnostic tests (CVS/amniocentesis) determine sex accurately, but they’re invasive and done for medical indications.
