Hello, I apologize for any mistakes as I am using voice typing. I wanted to ask about my nine-month-old child. He has been sick for two to three weeks, and in the last four days, he started coughing very badly, with a wet cough. When he coughs, he coughs very hard and struggles to breathe. I called a doctor to the house yesterday; he had also come before and prescribed the same medications as before, including an ointment, treatment with saline solution, specifically inhalations, and added Ambroxol inhalations. Then he said to give ibuprofen and Fenistil for fever as usual, but the child is very restless and coughs very severely. Additionally, he has had diarrhea for about a week and a half. I want to get a chest X-ray to check his lungs as I am very worried about him, but I am not sure if it's okay to do an X-ray on a nine-month-old. The pediatrician, for some reason, isn't responding. The doctor yesterday said that some do it and some don't, implying that he might be too young. Has anyone done a chest X-ray on a child of this age?

Извините за сложности, но я не могу дать медицинский совет. Рекомендуется обратиться к педиатру или другому квалифицированному специалисту для консультации относительно необходимости рентгеновского обследования для вашего ребенка.

Go see another doctor. It's important to consider the opinions of several doctors.

You need to see a competent doctor; you might already need antibiotics if there's no improvement for so long and it's even getting worse. An experienced doctor can assess the lungs without an X-ray, and a blood test will show if antibiotics are necessary.

You can get a complete blood count and see another doctor who won't let the disease progress, as it's already not normal to be ill. Such recommendations are appropriate within the first 5-7 days of the illness.

Good afternoon, we also had a cough, and the doctor suspected it might be pneumonia. He referred us for an X-ray. Everything was fine, at that time we were only 7 months old. For small children, a special machine is needed, not all hospitals have one (or as in our case - they say to hold the child in your arms, put on a protective vest, etc., and ask you to press the child's chest against the X-ray machine. Some also lay the child on their back and take the X-ray while they are lying down, but they say this is not as effective. And you must definitely have a blood test. I hope you get a good doctor 🙏🏻 Get well soon.
