Hello, since birth my daughter's eyes have been discharging pus, we thought it would pass, so we consulted an ophthalmologist, who said that the tear duct was blocked. He prescribed chloramphenicol drops and Floxal ointment and recommended doing massage. It's been two weeks already, but it still hasn't cleared up, though the discharge has somewhat reduced, but it's still there. We only used the drops for 5 days. Has anyone else experienced this? How many days did you do the massage? Should I continue the massage until it clears up? How did it go for others? Should I show her to the ophthalmologist again? And is it possible that this could cause a cold? Please write back, I would be very grateful if you could share your experience! ???

Hello! I understand your concern about the pus in your daughter's eyes. Usually, if the problem does not resolve after two weeks of treatment, it is advisable to consult a doctor for a follow-up consultation. It may be necessary to change the treatment or add other methods. Massaging the tear ducts is usually recommended several times a day for 1-2 weeks, but it is best to follow the doctor's instructions. A runny nose can be associated with a blocked tear duct, as all the organs of vision and respiration are interconnected. If the problem does not improve, do not hesitate to show your daughter to an ophthalmologist again. It is important to monitor the condition of the eyes and conduct treatment under the supervision of a specialist. I hope your daughter will feel better soon! ???

Hello, my little son had the same issue from birth. I used tea to wipe it, but ointment didn't help, and it continued to fester until he was three months old. When we started massage, the massage therapist said that his tear ducts were blocked and she performed a massage on his eyes, and everything went away ? and there has been nothing since then. She mentioned that ophthalmologists do not recommend massage and they usually resort to puncturing immediately.

By the way, she did perform and said that everything here is good. On the left, it's still a bit congested, and she did, for example, on the left for two more days until it resolves and until she herself realizes it during palpation.

Oh, a familiar story, conjunctivitis for already 2 months, almost since birth. We've been treating it for two weeks now, the drops you prescribed were not very effective, they told me. They prescribed Oftaquix, a tube of drops (exactly like that, one tube per day), and they at least reduced the pus, now there's only a lump left, or whatever they call a collection of pus in one spot. I hope it will pass soon so we can go outside.

Hello, I didn't do a massage, I treated [it] with boiled water, using a clean disc for each eye, cutting it in half, first wet, then dry, and over time it passed.

Индира, I was also very worried, but I was afraid to use any chemicals unnecessarily.

Индира, Try to do it more often and I think it will also pass, just preferably use fresh water more often.

We also had a blocked tear duct. Nothing helped, we had to puncture the tear duct. It was quite a struggle, of course. Massages help some people, but not others.

Катя Та, You don't have to pierce ears right away, we struggled with this for a long time. I don't quite remember, but it seems from 4-5 months old for a child so that either the child's weight is at least 10 kg. We only did it when she was 4 months old.

Hello, we had the same situation. Massage and drops didn't help. At 6 months, they did a probing of the tear duct and everything resolved.

"I didn't do anything, didn't use any drops, it went away by itself by 6-7 months. The ophthalmologist told me that I was straining incorrectly, that's why, but I don't know how true that is."
