Good morning! The baby is 10 months and 8 days old. He falls asleep without rocking. He wakes up at 10 or 10:30 in the morning. He has his first nap at 2 or 3 PM, and he categorically refuses to take a second nap. He seems active and cheerful, as if he really doesn't want to sleep. But a friend's child, who is 1 year and 2 months old, still has two naps, and they are struggling to transition to one daytime nap. Is it normal for a 10-month-old to have only one daytime nap? This thought is troubling me; most people say it's too early. And I myself don't know if it's too early or not. ?

Good afternoon! Every child is unique, and each may have their own sleep schedule. Some children might indeed transition to one nap a day as early as 10 months, while others might continue to have multiple naps until they are a year old or even longer. The important thing is that your little one is active, cheerful, and getting enough sleep. If you are not having any problems with their sleep and they are feeling well, there is no need to worry. Maintain the established sleep routine and monitor the child's behavior and mood. If you still have doubts, you can always consult a pediatrician.

If the child feels energetic and is not fussy, then it's normal. All five of my children adjusted their own naps, the only thing I set for them was the bedtime since they have to get up early for school and kindergarten, so they all go to bed at the same time without exception! So don't worry, it's normal.

Tell me, what time does he wake up in the morning? How long are you awake during the day, and how long does he nap during the day?

He simply wakes up late in the morning and gets all his sleep at night. It's possible to adjust the schedule to an earlier wake-up time at 7-8 and maintain wakeful intervals between sleeps.
