Hello everyone!))) My younger daughter has been sick for almost a month. We went to the doctor, and they said she has bronchitis and prescribed antibiotics. We took them, and a week later, the fever and cough returned. They prescribed different antibiotics, which we also took, but she still has a cough and a runny nose. I don't know what to do anymore :( Can anyone recommend a good pediatrician in Almaty, or should we consider hospitalization?!

First of all, I advise you to consult another doctor for a second opinion. Your child may need more serious treatment or additional examinations. If possible, consult a recommended pediatrician in Almaty. They will be able to conduct further examinations and prescribe the correct treatment. Also, if your child's condition worsens or the fever does not subside, it might be wise to go to the hospital for more serious treatment and monitoring. Do not delay the visit to the doctor, your child's health is the most important! Take care of yourself and your family.

Treat a runny nose and the cough will go away.

Change the doctor first and foremost. It's important to understand what type of bronchitis it is. At a minimum, a good doctor would require an X-ray and a blood test. If it's bacterial, then antibiotics of a different spectrum are needed. If there's obstruction, then hormones are necessary, and everything should be monitored dynamically by the doctor listening to the lungs. Once, they just indiscriminately gave our eldest a bunch of medications when simple inhalations to relieve the obstruction would have sufficed.

Kaleriya_Mayer , Thank you for the advice) we did just that, took an X-ray and prescribed an inhalation.

I am treating bronchitis with inhalations if the phlegm is hard to expel, using Fluimucil 1 ml with 3 ml saline. Before that, I use Pulmicort or Berodual to dilate the bronchi. Just do the inhalation regularly 3 times a day for 5-7 days, and everything will pass within 2 weeks; it's normal for the cough to persist. But since you are not treating with inhalations, it has probably been almost a month for you. However, if the little one is very troubled by shortness of breath, then you should see a pulmonologist and an allergist.

Fluimucil, Pulmicort, Berodual are all prescribed by a doctor. I didn't know about Fluimucil before; it turns out many people use it for breathing.

Do a culture test; maybe you are treating with the wrong medication.

You need to see another doctor, and have all the tests done on-site. I went through everything at a private clinic in 2.5 hours; they diagnosed and treated us, and we recovered in about a week and a half! In public healthcare, you and your kids will be exhausted from being sent around, I know from my own experience.
