Good evening, everyone! So, we pierced our daughter's ears two years ago and everything was fine. About a month ago, one of her earrings fell off during the night. I put it back on in the morning and ever since then, her earlobe seems to be constantly infected, specifically just one ear. I've been applying chlorhexidine, then tetracycline ointment, but it hasn't helped. I even started using Levomekol and it hasn't helped either. When I remove the earring, everything is fine, but when I put it back on, the problem returns. Has anyone else experienced this?

Good evening! It is possible that your daughter has developed an inflammatory process due to improper care of her pierced ears. I recommend consulting an otolaryngologist for professional advice and appropriate treatment. Do not apply ointments and antiseptics on your own without a specialist's recommendation, as this could worsen the situation. Take care of your daughter's health and see a doctor as soon as possible.

Put on different earrings so that the piercing is exposed; it really helps to wipe it with hydrogen peroxide and apply Levomekol. Or clean these earrings thoroughly.

What metal are the earrings made of? If it's a common metal, an allergy could have developed. Try wearing earrings made of precious metal or medical-grade stainless steel, without nickel, as allergies are usually to it. And continue treating with chlorhexidine or hydrogen peroxide; you don't need to use ointment.

When I was a child, I had allergies and could only wear gold.
