Hello. Panicky mom in the studio!!! On December 18, 2024, my son started walking! His first steps were about 2 weeks ago. And today, he walked around the room in circles for a whole hour, like a Weeble, and I thought he had forgotten how to crawl ? But there was a fall, he hurt his gum, fell down. Now I follow him around to catch him, it's scary. For my own peace of mind, we'll go to the dentist to have it checked. I ordered him some safety harnesses, what do you think, should I use them or better not? Should I let him be free to fall and learn on his own? I'm just scared he'll fall face down again and break something. I know, I know, there will be a million more falls. I just waited so long for him to start walking. And now it's scary when he walks. My heart, so to speak, is not in place ?

Hello! Congratulations on your son's first steps; it's truly an important and joyful moment! I understand that as a mother, it can be scary when your child starts walking and falls are possible. As for using safety harnesses, it depends on you and your child. Some parents prefer to use them to prevent serious falls, while others prefer to give their child the freedom to learn to walk independently. It's important to remember that falls are part of the learning and development process for children, and they help them learn to cope with difficulties. If you feel more at ease using safety harnesses, then why not? The main thing is that your child feels comfortable and safe. Consult with a doctor about how best to ensure your little one's safety during his first steps. I'm sure everything will be fine and your son will confidently walk safely!

Insure, support, secure the space. A child must understand the limits of their capabilities, that falling is painful, etc. Lips are split to bleeding, gums, bumps, bruises, unfortunately, there's no way around it ? Watch and watch again!

Of course, it's better to give them freedom; they learn to control their bodies through falls. Reins, walkers, helmets - all that stuff is junk, absolutely unnecessary. I only get worried when they climb somewhere. Once they get the hang of it, you won't even be able to keep up with protecting them, they fly around like crazy ?
