Good day! Ladies, who had a cesarean section by choice? The closer it gets, the scarier childbirth seems. Do you regret having the C-section? How long did it take for your uterus to shrink? What were the pros and cons? Did you have a remaining belly? Please share your experience :)

Hello! I cannot share my own experience as I am unable to give birth, but I can share the information I know. Elective cesarean section is a decision that each woman makes for herself. Of course, there are risks and benefits, as with any type of childbirth. Some women regret their decision, as the recovery process after a cesarean can be longer and more painful than after natural childbirth. The uterus typically shrinks back to its normal size within a few weeks after a cesarean, but sometimes it may take longer. It is important to monitor your condition and consult a doctor if there are any problems. The abdomen usually remains after a cesarean, but it may take time for it to return to its previous state. It is important to take care of yourself after the surgery to speed up the recovery process. I hope this information helps you make a decision. It is important to discuss all issues with your doctor and make the right decision together for you and your baby. Good luck!

I'm also planning to have a cesarean section. Although I gave birth to four on my own. I'm also thinking, I hope it's not scary?

Дильнара, Wow, that's so cool) I think it's not scary during the process, it's more the stories about unbearable pain afterwards that are frightening.

I would probably want a cesarean section; I gave birth to my first child naturally and without an epidural... I had contractions for three days and all that... but here, cesareans are only done if medically indicated, and I have no such indications, which is probably for the best on the other hand.

Марія, I also have no symptoms except for varicose veins in the vagina, but they say you can give birth with it. Right now, it's very difficult to go to the toilet; I don't know if the vessels will burst when you're pushing the baby out.

Улпан, Just so you know, varicose veins in the vagina are an indication for a cesarean section. Please check with your gynecologist ☺️

Марія, The vascular surgeon says they perform surgery when the ultrasound shows an expansion of 1 cm, but mine is 7 mm. However, the pain is unbearable. I don't know whether to trust my own feelings or the doctor's words ?.

I also had it done by choice. But I regretted it. It's unpredictable how it will turn out in each situation. After a cesarean, the doctor comes for several hours and presses hard on your stomach (once an hour), which is very painful. During the cesarean, they also have to turn the baby, which is an unpleasant procedure. Then, I had severe bleeding, losing 2 liters of blood, and needed a transfusion (which also carries risks). They wanted to remove my uterus, but thankfully, they were able to stop the bleeding. That's why I regretted it and thought it would have been better to have given birth naturally. The incision healed quickly, but you need to lie on your stomach often after a cesarean. My stomach now looks as if I'm five months pregnant, even though I exercise. When I stop, it grows again. The choice is yours, of course, but I wouldn't recommend it without indications since it's still surgical intervention. My friend had a cesarean, and everything went well for her, and she recovered quickly; it depends on your luck.

Катя Та, It's scary( I would like to myself ER. But it scares me how the varicose veins start to pulsate and hurt when I sit on the toilet, as if a vein is about to burst.

Улпан, It seems to me that you walk a lot and don't rest throughout the day. I also developed varicose veins during my third pregnancy. I noticed that by the end of the day, my lower body hurts and feels achy, but it gets better by morning.

Катя Та, Varicose veins also have their degrees, and it's not always an indication for a cesarean section. I had them too and it was scary, but try to lift your legs up more often and place a small pillow under your buttocks to facilitate blood flow away from the pelvis. It's not all that scary; after childbirth, it immediately goes away. I was sent for ultrasound scans of my veins twice during pregnancy, and everything was fine. Ask your doctor.

I had an unsuccessful first childbirth on my own; I tore badly, had a lot of milk, but the baby didn't survive. My second and third deliveries were through C-section, and I am grateful to my doctor for making me a mother twice. Of course, the recovery on the first and second day after the surgery is tough, but then the pain subsides. The first time during childbirth, the tears and pain were so bad, I don't remember how long I couldn't sit. Listen to yourself and, of course, your doctor, and let it be as you need it to be. There are plenty of advisors around, but childbirth is individual for every mother.

Айкоша, My first childbirth was also difficult; there was an episiotomy, and they even had to use a vacuum to extract the baby. It seems they didn't stitch the area correctly because it still sometimes hurts during intercourse. I also couldn't sit for a long time because the wound wouldn't heal. The stitches were supposed to fall out on their own, but they didn't, and the doctors had to remove them—it was like another circle of hell. Overall, everything took a very long time to heal and recover. I thought it would be even worse after a cesarean section. How is your stomach now? Do you still have a belly apron? They say the belly remains after a cesarean.

Улпан, I have the exact same situation, episiotomy and vacuum extraction too. Here I am about to give birth again and I understand you, I am incredibly scared myself. But, as they say, it's all in God's hands. This time I will go for a paid service, plus second labors are often easier and faster. I comfort myself with the thought that probably no two labors are the same for one woman (meaning not having vacuum extraction twice). Episiotomy is okay, but vacuum extraction is scary, I really wouldn't want it again, but surely there won't be a second labor like that. And it's true what they say, a cesarean is still a surgical operation, also with many risks... and regarding varicose veins, keep an eye on them until the birth. I hope for the best outcome ?? Wishing you an easy labor!

Аксиния, I also read a lot that second births are quick and easy. I was gearing up for a natural birth, but varicose veins ruined all the plans. I wish you an easy delivery as well ?

Айкоша, I have a belly and an apron belly, and after my first C-section, I quickly got back into shape, but now I can't lose weight. I'm not athletic; I never used to do sports. By the way, one of the indications for the C-section was also external and internal varicose veins. As for my figure, I'm not worried, as long as the kids are healthy.

Twice a C-section, as per indications. The hardest days are the first couple, and of course the immediate aftermath. But then the pain goes away quite quickly. After being discharged, I was already at home, taking baths and doing everything as usual. The second time, the incision took a long time to heal, but eventually, everything passed, it healed, and I have no consequences.

The first one was an emergency, the second one I wanted myself :) There was no belly, I don't regret it and especially since my vision is poor, I shouldn't do it myself. The first day you need to walk even though it's painful, but with each day it gets better, and when you plan to go home, it all passes ?

I experienced both during a single childbirth: 10 hours of contractions and at the end of the process, a C-section. I can say that if you have a choice, it's definitely better to opt for a C-section, but it's very important to choose a good doctor and discuss everything in advance. In my case, the C-section didn't end very well for me; they stitched me up poorly and the incision came apart. Also, if you choose a C-section, be prepared for a small "apron" over the scar and the possibility of adhesions forming. After all, it is surgery, and not the easiest one at that. In terms of pain, I'd rate vaginal delivery as 10/10 and C-section as 2/10. For many women, the days following a C-section can be very difficult, but I didn't find it hard; in fact, I started walking on my own on the day of the operation. It really depends on your body. In summary: if you want to give birth painlessly, choose a C-section. But everything afterwards will depend on you and the operating doctor. If you're ready to endure some pain and then forget about it in a month, choose vaginal delivery. But these are just my personal conclusions based on my experience. Wishing you a successful childbirth ?

Ника, I mostly wouldn't want a C-section because of the apron and adhesions. But otherwise, I think both C-section and ER are painful. Thank you?
