Girls! Are you giving your child extra fluids? Every doctor says something different. One says of course you should, another says you absolutely should not, as it's a strain on the kidneys.

I think it's important to listen to the opinions of specialists and make decisions based on the specific situation and the condition of the child. If you have doubts or questions, it's better to consult with several doctors and choose the most suitable option for your child.

This is an eternal argument. I didn't finish soldering. Everything is fine.

If it's hot at home, it's better to give a teaspoon of filtered water quietly.

I gradually accustomed [the child] to water little by little, and the child has been drinking water well almost from birth.

No, breast milk already contains water, or rather, it is mostly made up of water. Infants don't need water if you are breastfeeding. As for my own children, I started giving them water around 5-6 months, beginning with a spoonful and then gradually more. Both of them like water.

Water was introduced only at 6 months along with the first solid foods.

If you introduce water, the child will consume less milk; I didn't give extra water, my daughter started drinking water at about a year old. There's a lot of water in milk, so if she urinates well, it means there's enough moisture in her body.

I didn't give water to all five of them and I won't do it for the next ones either, everything is fine. Breast milk already contains water. You can introduce water along with solid foods ?

Water is introduced along with solid food (around 6-7 months); I introduced it together with solid food, even though we were using formula and living in a hot country. Since both milk and formula contain water, additional water is only needed if the child is sick.

Thank you everyone❤️ I initially had the same opinion that there is water in milk and there is no need yet. Also, the child made a face when drinking it. Well, nature has done everything for us - milk is the baby's food. But some pediatricians and urologists have their own opinion on this, and it's not known whether it's correct.

If breastfeeding, it's not really necessary, as breast milk is almost 90% water.

The pediatrician also told me to give just a little bit because we have a bit of jaundice, as she was born 2 weeks early.

Гуля, With jaundice, I know water is needed to flush out the bilirubin. We were in the pathology department, and there they even told those who had it to weigh the diapers.
