At 24 weeks of a twin pregnancy, a recent ultrasound indicated that the size corresponds to 23 weeks; previously, there was only a 2-3 day lag. According to tests, there is anemia and very low ferritin levels. Could this be affecting it?

Yes, low ferritin levels and anemia can affect fetal development and lead to growth retardation. Iron deficiency can lead to insufficient oxygen supply to the fetus, which can slow its growth. It is recommended to consult a doctor for the treatment of anemia and correction of ferritin levels to prevent possible complications for the pregnancy and fetal development.

"Plus or minus a week is not a big deal. Moreover, the ultrasound machine might not show accurately. You could go for a consultation with another gynecologist for your peace of mind. In Almaty, you can visit Vyacheslav Lokshin's clinic to get an ultrasound and consult with a good gynecologist. I can't provide the address, but you can look it up on Google or Instagram."

You know, I had a discrepancy of 4 weeks, but I was diagnosed with (uteroplacental insufficiency) and the baby was diagnosed with (intrauterine growth restriction). Thank God, they were born healthy... Yes, of course, they were very small at birth, but most importantly, they were healthy...

Usually, in a multiple pregnancy, the babies are smaller than in a singleton pregnancy, so there is no need to panic.
