"Has anyone had an experience where the ultrasound due date is two weeks ahead of the obstetric due date? I went to the maternity hospital yesterday because of false labor pains, and they said it was 37 weeks, but the ultrasound shows 39 weeks. Does this mean when it's 39 weeks by the obstetric date, it will be 42 weeks by the ultrasound? Has anyone else experienced this?"

I had a similar situation. According to the gestational age, I was at 38 weeks, but according to the ultrasound, I was at 40 weeks. The doctors said that this is normal and that sometimes there can be discrepancies in the timing by different methods of determining pregnancy. In the end, I gave birth to a healthy baby at 40 weeks by ultrasound. Don't worry, everything will be fine!

It might be that the fetus is large and developed for 39 weeks, I currently also have a two-week discrepancy, although the term is only almost 15 weeks, but the ultrasound indicates 17 weeks.

Doctors rely on the term according to the first screening.
