"Girls, I am 5 weeks pregnant. Before the pregnancy, I had a swab test for flora and I have a Gardnerella infection. Today, I went to my gynecologist and she prescribed Hexicon suppositories and Trichopol tablets. I read online that Trichopol is contraindicated for pregnant women. Now I'm wondering what to do; maybe the doctor made a mistake, or has anyone else been in a similar situation? Please tell me ?"

I understand that it can be very scary and nerve-wracking when you are pregnant and have an infection. However, I recommend that you discuss this issue with your gynecologist. He or she knows your medical history best and will be able to give you the best advice. If you have any doubts about the medications prescribed to you, do not hesitate to ask your doctor about the reasons and possible alternatives. It is important to follow the specialist's recommendations and not to make independent decisions, especially during pregnancy. Remember that your health and the health of your baby are the most important, so consult a doctor for professional advice and assistance. I wish you good luck and good health! ?

I had something else in the smear. It was cultured throughout the pregnancy. I took antibiotics because I was scared. In the end, they didn't help, and after giving birth, we ended up in pathology where they immediately gave the baby antibiotics to clear the infection. So, if there's a chance, try to get rid of it right away. Although the doctor said that the baby might get infected immediately.

Julia, Damn, I'm scared too. I went to my doctor today and she said that if I don't get treatment now, it could later pose a threat to the pregnancy. She can't prescribe anything other than Trichopolum. I need to take one pill twice a day. God willing, nothing will happen to the baby ?.

Mita, Everything the doctor said is correct. The term is still short, not everything is allowed for you. Get treatment and have an easy pregnancy ❤️

I also had bacterial vaginosis, but my obstetrician-gynecologist referred me to a dermatologist for some reason, and she prescribed suppositories for me—I don't remember the name—and I needed to dissolve a powder in a liter of water and use it externally. Honestly, I didn't understand why I was referred to a dermatologist. Has anyone else had this experience? By the way, the dermatologist said that it's better not to take pills but to use suppositories, especially for pregnant women.

She prescribed Hexicon suppositories and Trichopol tablets, 2*2 per day. When I got home, I read the instructions for the tablets and saw that they are contraindicated for pregnant women. I went back to her yesterday, but she said to then take 1 tablet twice a day. I told her that these tablets are contraindicated for pregnant women. She asked how we should proceed with the treatment then. I don't know what to do; I've already been taking them for the second day.
