Hello moms! My daughter, 8 months old, has been having a runny nose for a month now. Initially, the discharge was clear and slightly thick, but it has been green for a week now, and there's so much of it?. The pediatrician prescribed Nazivin, washing with Aquamaris drops and using an aspirator, applying Viferon and Fenistil. We followed the treatment, but the runny nose hasn't gone away?. There seem to be no other symptoms. Has anyone experienced something similar? How can I get rid of this runny nose? I feel so sorry for my daughter, struggling with this snot sucker.

Hello! I understand your concern. Snotty noses in little ones can be caused by various reasons, including viral infections, allergies, changes in the weather, etc. If the treatment prescribed by the pediatrician hasn't helped, it might be a good idea to consult another specialist. Additionally, you could try using a humidifier in the room, airing out the space more frequently, and ensuring the child drinks enough fluids to keep their nasal mucous membranes moist. You might also consider natural remedies, such as using calendula tincture or sea water for nasal rinsing. If the symptoms persist or worsen, be sure to consult a doctor for a more detailed examination and to prescribe effective treatment. Take care of yourself and your little one!

I've experienced the same thing. It was a prolonged case. You need to see a good ENT doctor who can differentiate between a viral and bacterial infection. If it's bacterial, only antibiotics will help. Viruses can also cause a prolonged illness. In that case, it's good to persistently and thoroughly rinse.

Rinse the nose. We used to use sprays, but they had little effect. Then I bought attachments for a syringe and started rinsing with saline solution. A 20 ml syringe and a special nozzle. Now I rinse myself this way too. All the mucus comes out, a lot of it. You can't remove that much with an aspirator. You just need to warm the saline in your hands to body temperature. Sometimes she lets me rinse her, and even does it herself, but sometimes not at all. I searched online for videos of kids to show my own how they do it. There are really young kids often shown there.
