Good evening girls, please help me understand, I went to see a gynecologist, she is putting me at 7 weeks and 3 days pregnant, sent me for an ultrasound, the ultrasound confirmed pregnancy, but only by ultrasound, 3 weeks and 1 day, I don't understand why there is such a difference, I will definitely go to the doctor, but I am worried, can you maybe give me some advice?

It will be like that. The dates differ by two weeks. Later they'll calculate it by ultrasound. That's how they dated me, and to this day there's a difference. By ultrasound it's embryonic age; the doctor uses obstetric age.

Count the first day of the last period from there.

My ultrasound doctor told me right away that the embryonic and gestational ages differ, and that difference is two weeks. Don’t worry, the dates will even out soon.

My ultrasound and obstetric due dates matched.

Ultrasound gives the embryonic age. The gynecologist counts from the first day of the last menstrual period. You have a 4-week difference. That means there may have been a late ovulation.

Interesting, but for me the doctor and the ultrasound gave the same due date!

Ovulation might have been late.

They might be able to give a more precise due date at 12 weeks.

If periods are irregular, such a discrepancy is normal. I have polycystic ovaries; my cycle and ovulation are irregular, I'm 9 weeks by dates but 7 by ultrasound. The doctor said in my case this is normal.

Ирина , I also have PCOS, but for some reason the dates line up — who'll sort them out ?
