Hello. Could someone advise, has anyone encountered this?

Hello. Could someone advise, has anyone encountered this? We were on mixed feeding for 1.5 months; only the cheeks were red (NAN HA). After switching completely to formula feeding the situation worsened. The gastroenterologist recommended switching to Nutrilon Pepti Gastro, but the situation didn't improve. Suspected CMPA (cow's milk protein allergy). The baby started putting their hands in their mouth and something like ulcers appeared. We're applying zinc cream and giving an antihistamine; sometimes it gets a bit better, then it flares up and there's increased redness around the lips. Has anyone experienced this?

At 3 months, redness around the lips when the baby has their hands in their mouth often gets worse not only because of the formula, but because of saliva and rubbing: it becomes contact irritation that fades and then flares up again. But "sores" in the mouth or on the lips are better shown in person to the pediatrician or a pediatric dermatologist, because that's no longer the typical picture of CMPA (cow's milk protein allergy) alone. With CMPA on a therapeutic extensively hydrolyzed formula, the skin is usually given 2–4 weeks to show noticeable improvement, provided there's no blood in the stool, poor weight gain, or severe intestinal symptoms. If it doesn't get better in that time, doctors usually discuss whether it's really an allergy and whether an amino-acid-based formula is needed. Go urgently to the on-call pediatrician if the baby is feeding worse, urinating less, is lethargic, or develops a fever. How many days have you been on Nutrilon Pepti Gastro?
