He wasn't taken away. As soon as I gave birth, they wiped him and put him straight on my chest. Then they weighed/measured him in front of me. They didn't take him out of my sight at all; afterwards they took both of us to the ward.
Well, it depends on your situation and condition. I couldn't get up after the cuts; I gave birth at 5, stayed with the baby for a little while, then they took him away and brought him back early in the morning so as not to tire me.
At our hospital they take the babies and bring them for feeding; I can't say yet exactly how everything will be. I'm curious how this is done in other cities ?
They wiped him and put him on me and immediately put my boob in his mouth; we lay together for about an hour, then they took us to separate wards and brought him to me for feedings.
Not everyone gets it right away, keep that in mind. I had a difficult delivery and the baby had hematomas on their head, but they gave the baby to me right away without any problems ;)
