Hello! I had such a situation: two years ago I had an abortion due to miscarriage. I'm negative. The doctor said (as far as I remember) that this is for the purpose of preventing Rh incompatibility during future pregnancies and it's done once and for life. That is, they injected it once and you don't need to inject it again. Question: Is this true? Or am I confusing something? Has anyone experienced this?

I don't know, they told me to do it at 28 weeks and after giving birth.

It's done in the first pregnancy and again after childbirth, but not everyone gets it after delivery And in general, once yes — as far as I heard, my aunt literally told me about it recently

You'll still be under strict supervision, and you mustn't overlook that.

No, that's not the case, the injection is given after abortions and with every subsequent pregnancy too (it's mandatory at 28 weeks, and after birth if the Rh is different from the baby's).

I also have Rh-negative, my husband is Rh-positive. I had a missed miscarriage. I had a D&C. After it they gave me an immunoglobulin shot. I'm pregnant again now; we test for alloimmune antibodies every month. They said they'll give the immunoglobulin shot again at 28 weeks. So no, it's not given once for life. Every pregnancy will be like that.
