I am 21 weeks pregnant and have had a severe cough and chest congestion since June 6th. I've taken medication twice but it hasn't stopped. I was told that if I don't treat it now, it could affect my baby. Is this true? What can I take to stop the cough and congestion?

I had severe catarrh too at around 7wks but it disappeared after like 2wks without taking drugs
