Главное, чему уделяют внимание в подобной ситуации – определенный вес плода в 3 месяца и данные фетометрического исследования. За беременной выполняют внимательный надзор. Если проблема выяснилась на сроке до 8 месяцев, врач-генетик проводит некоторые исследования на исключение хромосомных искажений. После установки диагноза назначают внутриутробные измерения и доплерометрию каждые 14 дней, при ухудшении картины, или после 8 месяцев – раз в 7 дней. Обычно требуется досрочное родоразрешение на сроке от 7 месяцев.
