Girls, good morning! Discrepancy in dates according to menstrual cycle and ultrasound. Is this within normal range? The sonographer said everything is fine, she's not worried about anything. Still, I want other opinions. According to my menstrual cycle, the pregnancy was at 8.2 weeks, but according to the ultrasound it was 6.4 weeks. Is there a significant discrepancy?

It all depends on ovulation—on when it happened! Ultrasound is always more accurate!

Мария , I'm 33 weeks by my cycle, but only 30 weeks and 2 days by ultrasound, so it's a late ovulation.

If the ultrasound looks fine, there's nothing to worry about. You don't actually know exactly when you ovulated. It's clearer on the ultrasound.

For me, both now and in my first pregnancy the dates didn't match by about a week to a week and a half because my ovulation is late. The main thing is that everything is fine on the ultrasound.

It's just that there are obstetric weeks — they're always counted from the last menstrual period. Ovulation varies for everyone, on average about two weeks later. That's why you have that discrepancy; pregnancy will still be dated by obstetric weeks...

That happens ? And it's normal ) there can be a discrepancy of up to 3 weeks... they even gave me a later due date ? than it should be... they counted from my last period and calculated one date, but the ultrasound shows the baby is developing according to a completely different timeline ? So don't worry, if they said everything is fine with you, then everything is fine!) and as for things not matching, it happens to about every other woman )
