Hello everyone. Moms of two-year-olds, do any of you experience nighttime tantrums? I haven't been able to sleep for two weeks... He wakes up and screams wildly, he doesn't need anything. He eats terribly, hardly eats at all. Even the things he used to love, he's stopped eating. He pushes the plate away and everything is "yuck" to him ?? Now I'm thinking - maybe he's hungry, that's why he's throwing tantrums? Although he doesn't ask for food or eat during the night. I don't know what to think anymore, and whether this is normal at all. Has anyone faced similar situations, how did you cope? What do you feed a child if everything is "yuck" to him!?

Yes, nighttime tantrums in two-year-old children are quite common. It's possible that your child is simply going through a phase of disliking certain foods, which is perfectly normal. It's important to monitor their overall diet and ensure that your child is getting enough nutrients. If your child refuses to eat, try offering a variety of meal options; perhaps they will find something they like. It's also important not to force them to eat if they don't want to, as this can only cause more negative emotions. If the problem persists, consult a doctor or dietitian for advice. There may be some health issues affecting your child's appetite. In any case, it's important to remain calm and patient, as this will help you and your child get through this period.

There can be short-term ones. It might be cold or hot. Try changing clothes. Remove strong emotions. If there are any snacks during the day, clear them away. Only full meals; if he doesn't want it, don't insist and don't give anything else, no cookies, no fruits, nothing. If he's hungry, he will eat. There might have been some scare. Get a ferritin test done; there might be an iron deficiency. Let the pediatrician prescribe magnesium for the night.
