What to take to the maternity hospital: Documents - 3 copies of ID, original ID. Maternity record (exchange card). For delivery: 3 adult diapers 3 absorbent underpads Still water, preferably 0.5–2 liter bottles Bananas or a chocolate bar 2 nightgowns, 1 short Flip-flops or other spare footwear Wet wipes — 1 large pack 2 rolls of paper towels For mom: 2 robes, preferably comfortable breathable cotton. 1 warmer (robe). Two nursing bras Purelan cream by Medela or Bepanthen Nipple shields for nursing if the nipple is not formed Hygiene items Nightgown Socks Minimal dishes/cutlery Night pads (do not take urological ones) Phone, charger Fabric face towel For the baby: 5 thin swaddles 2 warmer swaddles Diapers — 1 pack Wet wipes 3 pairs of socks Newborn mittens — 2 Hats — 1 smaller, 2 slightly larger 2 bodysuits 2–3 undershirts/side-snap shirts 3 pairs of baby pants Diaper cream Liquid baby soap Small cotton towel
