"Girls who are breastfeeding, I need your advice. I've decided, while there's still time, to try and see if she will start to take to the breast even a little. How do you know when your baby is hungry? And is it normal for them to arch their back, suckle a bit, let go, and then latch on again? And how can you tell if she's full? She eventually falls asleep and I can't tell if she's reached the hindmilk. Also, when I breastfeed, she screams and cries, but calms down after about five minutes and eats (I think she wants a bottle). Thanks in advance ❤️"

Mine was bending specifically because of the gas. As for crying and wanting the breast, probably yes, if there was a bottle, he might want it. Try feeding around naps. See when he starts falling asleep and offer the breast, or just after he wakes up. He'll then forget about the bottle. As for being hungry, he used to cry, suck on his fists, and I understood that he was most likely hungry. I would offer the breast. My baby, if full, would let go of the breast himself. He could wake up after 10 minutes and ask again, which is normal. He used to suckle almost all the time until three months old, which is also normal.

We had the same thing; he was all writhing on the chest, freaking out, but would eat calmly from a bottle and then fall asleep. But I had little milk because I was hardly eating any proper food, just unhealthy snacks. Once I started eating a balanced diet, I began producing more milk, and now everything has settled down, and we managed to continue breastfeeding, but we always keep some formula in reserve just in case. Maybe his tummy bothers him when he eats; it could just be that phase. You need to wait it out. Go see a doctor and let them recommend something.

Dear Mom, congratulations on your decision to try breastfeeding! Here are some tips that can help you understand your baby's behavior and needs: 1. Understanding hunger: Usually, a baby begins to show signs of hunger such as sucking on hands or lips, turning their head towards the breast, or making soft noises. When you see these signs, try offering your breast to the baby. 2. Proper latching: Make sure that the baby is properly latched onto the breast so that they can suck effectively and get enough milk. If you are unsure about the latching, seek help from a breastfeeding consultant. 3. Understanding satiety: When the baby is full, they may let go of the breast on their own or stop sucking actively. If the baby falls asleep after feeding, it may be a sign that they are satisfied. 4. Demanding a bottle: If the baby cries and screams when latching onto the breast, it could be due to stress or discomfort. Try to soothe the baby and offer the breast again, as they may just need your support and reassurance. Do not hesitate to seek help from professionals if you have difficulties with breastfeeding. Remember, every mom and baby are unique, and it will take time and patience to establish a feeding routine. Good luck to you and your little one! ❤️

Check the bridle, it might be because of that refusal. If you want to breastfeed, it's better to remove the bottle because it's easier for children to eat from a bottle than from the breast.

She will be hungry without the bottle and will start breastfeeding well. She might still be suffering from colic and gas now. When she's full, she will let go of the breast herself. She might ask for it very often. This is still the period of finishing the baby's development; they often want to be held in arms and on the breast.

At that age, it's hard to understand when they want to eat and when they just want to feel close to their mom, satisfy their sucking reflex, or calm down. Right now, for the baby, the breast is everything. I fed at every little whimper. She often hung on the breast and slept in my arms, tormented by terrible colic. The breast delivers milk differently than a bottle does. The baby first sucks, then the milk flow starts, and that's when the baby gets full. But from a bottle, the milk flows easily right away, so the baby gets upset because they don’t understand why they are sucking but the milk comes out weakly. ☺️
