Hello everyone, I'm 30 weeks pregnant, with low ferritin - 16 while having a hemoglobin level of 126, which is considered to be a latent form of anemia. Can anyone who has experienced this suggest how best to increase ferritin levels?

First and foremost, it is important to consult with a doctor to determine the causes of low ferritin levels and to develop a treatment plan. They may prescribe you iron-containing medications such as ferroplex or ferroglobin to increase your ferritin levels. It is also important to pay attention to your diet and consume iron-rich foods such as meat, fish, nuts, green vegetables, and legumes. It is also important to avoid consuming tea and coffee, as they can impair iron absorption.

Валентина, Thank you very much for the information about Tardiferon, good reviews and excellent composition. In my maternity clinic, they prescribed Avifer, but there it even says in the instructions that it's contraindicated in the first trimester, and in the second and third trimesters if the benefits outweigh the risks ?.

I had severe anemia. But all the iron supplements caused constipation. Ferlatum and Sorbifer Durules were good at increasing my iron levels. However, the latter caused severe constipation. But by the end of the pregnancy, nothing helped, and I had to have an IV drip.
