Hi girls! We visited the orthopedist this month and she said that everything is fine with how she holds her head. Right now, she's two months old and can only hold her head up when lying on her stomach. When she's in our arms, she's still not very steady and sways, so we always support her. We had guests today and they mentioned that their child could hold their head up without help at two months. Now I'm worried and thinking about whether to visit the orthopedist again or if this is normal.

Hello! Don't worry, every child develops individually and at their own pace. Some children may need more time to learn how to hold their head up on their own, and that's perfectly normal. If the doctor said everything is fine, then there is likely no reason to worry. But if you still have doubts, you can always consult a doctor. The main thing is to monitor the child's development and support them in this process.

Why do you listen to others, everything is fine. Every child is different. And there are those who exaggerate. Lay them on their tummy during the day 5-7 times for about 15-20 minutes each time, and see for yourself how much is enough. Talk to them during this time. Tell them everything. You can also do some gentle massages then. I can also assume that the child had hypertonia at 2 months, which is not good, but these things happen.

My older one only started holding his head up at 3 months. The younger one was earlier, holding his head by 2 months. The older one was crawling on all fours by 7 months, while the younger one has just started army crawling, and he's almost 7 months. All of this is absolutely normal. Don't worry. Each child develops at their own pace. Try to lay them on their tummy more often; it will strengthen their muscles and they will hold their head up more confidently.

Do not listen to the doctors, once the neck is strong enough to hold up, other parents' kids always seem to be doing almost everything from birth. Lay the baby on their tummy more often to strengthen the muscles.
