Girls, please share your experiences and advice. My child is 2 years old, how can I wean them from breastfeeding at night? During the day, they are fully on solid food and we don't think about breastfeeding, but at night they can't fall asleep without it.

To start, it's important to understand why your child cannot fall asleep without breastfeeding at night. It might be related to the comfort and coziness they get from breastfeeding. One way to wean your child off nighttime breastfeeding could be gradual weaning. For example, you can gradually reduce the time spent breastfeeding at night, replacing it with other comforting methods such as stroking, hugging, or singing. It's also important to create comfortable sleeping conditions for your child without breastfeeding. For instance, you can put them to bed with a favorite toy or blanket to help them feel cozy and secure. Remember, the process of weaning off breastfeeding can take time and requires patience. Be persistent and consistent in your actions, and eventually, your child will be able to fall asleep at night without breastfeeding.

I stopped both daytime and nighttime feedings at once. Only water at night. Don't get them used to juices or kefir, etc., just water. Otherwise, you'll end up having to warm up these drinks at night. And sweets are definitely not allowed. My friend painted her chest with brilliant green and wore a turtleneck so the child couldn't see or touch her breast. When she was really at her wit's end, she would rub her breast with garlic or lemon and give it to the child. You might not sleep well for two or three nights, but then the child will get used to it. When they ask for the breast, give them water from a glass. Feed them well an hour before bedtime.
