Hello! The child has a wet cough with phlegm, and the cough is very frequent. We went to the clinic. There, they prescribed Aqualor for the throat and recommended frequently rinsing the nose. I've been using the Aqualor throat spray, but I don't see any results. What can be given to a 9-month-old child?

For a 9-month-old baby with a wet cough, you can try the following methods: 1. Use a humidifier in the room where the baby is located to soften the mucus and ease breathing. 2. Drink more fluids to thin the mucus and facilitate its expulsion. 3. Air out the room to reduce the concentration of airborne bacteria and viruses. 4. Consult a doctor for the prescription of medications if the cough does not improve or gets worse. 5. Avoid exposing the child to smokers and other irritants that can exacerbate the cough. If the cough worsens or does not subside within a few days, be sure to consult a doctor for further consultation and treatment.

If you are talking about mucolytics, then under no circumstances should they be used. The mucus will clear too quickly, and the baby won't have enough of a cough reflex to cough it up. Go for walks, air out the room, humidify the air, and drink plenty of warm fluids. Unfortunately, there's nothing else that can be done for such little ones. If the doctor listened and didn't find anything serious, then this is the only treatment.

Look at how they do massage for coughing. It also helps well with expelling phlegm. And of course, the nose, because it is primarily the reason the cough starts.

You have been prescribed appropriate treatment, surprisingly timely. Usually, they overload with interferons. Wait, monitor your lungs, and that's all.
