Electronic test — inside there's the same cheap two-strip test and a sensor that reads the brightness of the lines: if it's very faint then 1-2, if brighter 2-3, if both are very bright 3+. I don't think it's 100% reliable. Don't worry, they'll change that date 10 times and recalculate it, and you'll still have several ultrasounds.
