My daughter has always been startled by all kinds of sounds since she was born. In the hospital, she would wake up every time other babies cried. I told the pediatrician and nurses that it seemed like she couldn't hear yet. But every time she woke up from a sound, it wasn't just random chance; she would wake up whenever other children cried. And at home, we're always noisy. But even when she's asleep, she gets scared if someone coughs or makes a notification sound. We haven't seen a neurologist yet.
