Hello, could you please tell me if it can cause addiction? My son has had pneumonia since he was one month old, and now he is 9 months old. He has been diagnosed with bronchial asthma, and almost every time he gets a respiratory infection, he experiences wheezing. We have been hospitalized three times and treated at home twice. Now the doctor has prescribed Pulmicort for 3 months, and my mother-in-law is worried, citing that the medication might cause dependency.

Дария, In most cases, it does not cause addiction, but for such a long duration, I would consult another doctor for an opinion. We usually did a maximum of three weeks when my child was about 3 months old. Here, you only proceed with a doctor because although it's a hormone, I always look at several opinions. I understand that every time there's an ORVI with obstruction, my daughter was constantly sick like that until she outgrew it, but no one diagnosed her with asthma.
