Hi everyone. I went to the geneticist at the GCRH today. They sent me for an amniocentesis. I signed a refusal. I don't see the need for this procedure. I'll explain my point of view, which of course may not align with yours ❤️ The procedure is performed under ultrasound guidance: they make a puncture and collect amniotic fluid. After the procedure, the test results come back in 7–10 days. If a problem is confirmed — they recommend an abortion; if not — congratulations, you have a healthy baby. In my case — even if the baby is "special," I will not have an abortion, and if the baby is healthy — then what's the point of all this? I feel that my little son is completely healthy and that everything is fine with us. That's why, with a light heart, I signed the refusal and left. How did your conversation with the geneticist go? And did you have an amniocentesis or a biopsy from the umbilical cord?
